Ever since I've known him, Obang Metho has been preaching peace, love, and reconciliation. I think it's fair to say that many of us thought him naive. How in the hell can peace, love, and reconciliation work? We need power, justice, and retribution.
Well, what a delight it is that Obang has now found a leader, Dr Abiy Ahmed, even more naive than him! So naive that he's made peace, love, and reconciliation work.

But, as you say, it's time to get down to work. There are many possible sources of division and instability in Ethiopia, particularly ethnic nationalism. We Ethiopian nationalists have to work overtime to remove the disease of division from ourselves so that we can confront ethnic nationalism from a position of strength, but in a peaceful, positive, constructive, empathetic, and just way.
